GeoBubble is an innovative type of bubble that uses a scientifically engineered contour to increase the life of thermal blankets by up to 25%.
The science behind GeoBubble
Swimming pool covers are exposed to ultraviolet rays and chemicals. GeoBubble has been specifically designed for these conditions and is more resistant to these attacks.
Traditional bubbles had been developed for the packaging industry, and were low quality bubbles. These bubbles had many weaknesses, including finer points and higher residual stress. The finer points of the bubble would break down quickly under chemical or UV attack. The degradation process is accelerated in high stress areas because these areas are often under constant stress. These factors cause the bubble material to break down and the pool cover to fail prematurely.
Traditional pool cover material
What makes GeoBubble unique?
Unique patented design with two bubbles joined by a central waist section
No sharp corners, fine points or weak spots in the design
Stress-free material due to interlocking curves
The total thickness of a GeoBubble bubble is 50% greater than a traditional bubble
Increased resistance to UV rays and chemicals.
Why does GeoBubbble have such a large footprint?
GeoBubble is larger than traditional bubbles to allow the air inside the bubble to expand. The rigid waist makes the bubble strong enough to hold the air and won't stretch or burst. It also acts as an insulator, retaining heat in the pool, and helps the cover adhere to the water.
What is a stabilisation pack?
Ultraviolet (UV) rays are emitted by the sun and partially absorbed by the Ozone layer. UV rays are not only bad for the skin, but also for many materials, such as plastic products. Unless these materials are specially treated, they will fade if exposed to these rays and chemicals.
For this reason, bubble design alone cannot prevent the premature failure of a blanket. The best available package of additives, stabilisers and antioxidants has been developed. This package increases the life of the material, helping it to be more resistant to UV rays and chemicals. Together with the unique bubble design, the longevity of the product is dramatically increased.
SOL GUARD
SOL GUARD thermal blanket increases pool temperature up to 10ºC by using solar energy. Moreover, it is resistant to the aggressions of the chemical products used for the treatment of your pool. The thickness of the bubbles is greater than that of a normal bubble. It has no weak points and allows the air to expand.
Adding the other characteristics of the thermal blanket, these can extend the pool season up to two months.
The Sol Guard thermal blanket transmits 80% of the sun's energy through the material to heat the water and pool walls. Tests carried out in the UK have shown a 6º increase in the ambient pool temperature. In warmer countries, increases of up to 10º are estimated, reducing heat demand by up to 70%.
Prevents evaporation
The bubble thermal blanket material provides a barrier to evaporation. It gives the pool the ability to preserve water and reduce heat loss due to evaporative cooling. Preventing evaporation losses is key to maintaining pool temperature. They are responsible for 70% of the pool's heat loss.
Insulation to prevent heat loss
Geobubble air cell technology provides buoyancy and an insulating air space to control heat transfer. It gives the material the ability to regulate the pool environment and keep it at the desired temperature.
EnergyGuard
With the new black EnergyGuard thermal blanket you will maximize the pool temperature while inhibiting algae growth. Thanks to this innovative and lightweight filtration material, you will optimise temperature performance and save on chemicals. By improving solar energy harvesting and inhibiting algae growth, the material achieves the most effective balance between collecting solar energy and reducing chemicals and filtration time. This makes it the most innovative cover to date.
Selective transmission
The material's navy blue bubble layer is designed to absorb UV and visible light, vital for photosynthesis. It also allows the transmission of infrared wavelengths through the material to directly heat the water mass.
Increased solar energy harvesting
The selective transmission properties of New EnergyGuard's black thermal blanket efficiently and sustainably increase water temperatures. Tests in the UK have shown a temperature increase of up to 5˚C, and it is believed this can be as high as 7˚C in warmer climates.
Chemical savings and reduced filtration time
The opacity of the material at visible wavelengths inhibits algae growth. In addition, the coating's ability to block ultraviolet light means less chlorine is lost due to photolysis. This results in chemical savings and reduced filtration time.
Algae inhibition
It is now possible to maximise pool temperature while preventing algae growth. This material filters light, so you no longer have to choose between temperature and chemical use. Offering optimised solar gain, EnergyGuard selective transmission material provides the best balance between reduced solar gain, chemical use and filtration. It is the most innovative solar blanket available today.
Evaporation Prevention
EnergyGuard black thermal blanket provides a barrier to evaporation, giving the pool the ability to preserve water and reduce heat loss. The prevention of evaporation losses is fundamental to maintaining pool temperature.

loss.
Insulating properties
The air cells in the EnergyGuard black thermal blanket provide both buoyancy and an insulating air space to control heat transfer. It gives the material the ability to regulate the pool environment and keep it at the desired temperature. The cover absorbs the heat radiated by the water into the atmosphere.
Quality and longevity
The EnergyGuard black thermal blanket material uses the improved GeoBubble shape scientifically designed to prevent premature deterioration around the edges of the bubbles. Longevity is increased by 25%, making it a sustainable and 100% recyclable product that saves energy and costs.
CoolGuard
A cover that cools your pool water. It is designed to provide the highest performance in saving chemicals while cooling the water. Reduces water temperature through solar reduction, keeping it 10% cooler. Provides a barrier to reduce solar gain. This 500 micron Geobubble thermal blanket is an economical solution to help keep your pool cool. It improves the effectiveness of the chemical treatments you use in your pool, as well as keeping it clean.
The bubble design of the Geobubble 500 micron thermal blankets is more resistant to UV rays. It is also resistant to chemicals, increasing the life of the thermal blanket. It also helps the blanket adhere to the water surface, so it can't be blown away.
Reflects heat
Coolguard's reflectivity significantly improves the thermal regulation of the pool. The Ice Blue colour improves visible and infrared reflectivity by 25%, providing a barrier to reduce solar gain, ensuring a refreshing swimming temperature. An ideal cover that cools the water for the hottest swimmers.
Prevents evaporation
CooGuard's reflective properties provide a cooler, more comfortable swimming environment. Meanwhile, they conserve water resources and mitigate energy consumption for cooling devices. The material provides a barrier to evaporation, giving the pool the ability to preserve water and reduce heat loss due to evaporative cooling. Evaporative losses are the most important factor in maintaining pool temperature, accounting for 70% of heat loss in outdoor pools.

Main benefits of Geobubble Reguard - The thermal blanket to retain heat in your pool
Reflects
The specially selected pigments of RaeGuard's white and silver linings are designed to reflect and disperse radiative heat and maximise reflection in the mid-infrared region.
Insulate
The unique GeoBubble air cell provides a substantial barrier layer that works to prevent the transfer of thermal energy away from the surface of a pool.
Eliminates evaporation
When a pool is covered, instead of using energy to turn into water vapour, your pool water retains its thermal energy and stays warmer.
