We know that cleaning and maintaining pool water can be challenging, especially when it comes to combating bacterial contamination, different coloured algae and other common problems. That's why, in this blog, we're going to explore Piscimar's innovative solutions, namely problems such as: bacteria contamination, green algae, black or brown algae, yellow algae, pink algae, pollen or suspended mud and cloudy water.
Find out how to keep your pool perfect, free from contamination and ready for a dip at any time.
Enzymatic treatment is recommended to remove biofilm from pipes and filter media - sand, glass, cartridges, etc.
Enzymes degrade the coating or biofilm used by bacteria and other micro-organisms in the non-visible areas of the pool and installation, allowing the usual disinfectant treatments to destroy organic matter and all contaminating bacteria.
It reduces chemical consumption, improves water quality and makes pool maintenance considerably easier.
Contains no live microorganisms.
When to use Biofilm Out?
- Starting up the pool after winterisation.
- As a complementary treatment to recover green water.
- When high chlorine consumption is detected and residual chlorine cannot be maintained in the water.
- In the event of poor filtration to regenerate the filter media and extend its useful life.
- In the event of bacterial contamination by "pseudomona aeruginosa", "E-coli" and faecal coliforms.
- Reinforces treatments with PHOS-OUT 3XL or ALGIBLACK + for black algae.
Causes:
- Insufficient disinfection.
- Expired analysis kit.
- High level of phosphate.
- Spore contamination in the pool tank.
Recommended treatment
1. Check that the analysis kit has not expired and/or has false readings, use a kit for measuring free chlorine (pink/DPD1 scale) and not one that measures total chlorine (yellow scale).
2. Check the pH and if it is outside the parameters, correct it to 7.2 with BAJA pH or SUBE pH POLVO according to your needs.
3. Apply a shock treatment, 40 g/m3 of DICHLOR SHOCK GR or 30 g/m3 of RITOCAL GR together with 0.5 L/100 m3 of ACTIBON SHOCK.
Causes:
- Pool spore contamination
Recommended treatment
1. Analyse the level of phosphates.
2. Apply PHOS-PUT 3 XL according to the amount of phosphates.
3. Brush the affected areas with a stainless steel brush and apply 1.5 L/100 m³ of Algiblack+.
Causes:
- Algae resistant to disinfectants and algaecides.
Recommended treatment:
1. Analyse the phosphate level.
2. Apply PHOS-PUT 3 XL according to the amount of phosphate.
3. Apply CleanPool Shock.
Causes:
- Cyanobacterial contamination.
Recommended treatment:
1. Apply shock treatment with 700 mL/m³ of Oxipure 12, + 0,5 L/100 m³ of Actibon Shock
Causes:
- Pollination or mud showers.
Recommended treatment:
1. Apply 0.5 L/100 m³ of GOLDENFLOK.
2. Put the filter on manual for 24 hours.
Causes:
- Chemical mismatch
- Poor filtration
- Heavy use of the pool
Recommended treatment:
1. Check the alkalinity at 100 ppm with BAJA TA or SUBE TA an pH at 7.2, with BAJA pH or SUBE pH POLVO, correct the values if they are not correct.
2. Carry out a backwash, if it persists, check the condition of the filter material, if it is sand, regenerate it with SILNET and if it is a cartridge, with TEXNET.
3. Improve filter performance with clarifier with GOLDENFLOK or CLEANPOOL SHOCK.
