IQ Communication Cartridges - RAIN BIRD

Network communication cartridges upgrade the ESP-LXME and ESP-LXD series stand-alone controllers to IQ satellite controllers capable of being controlled by the IQ platform. The communication cartridge fits on the back of the programmer faceplate and provides the communication link between the IQ central computer and remote site programmers.

Features

• IQ is the perfect irrigation control solution for park and school technical departments, property managers, landscape maintenance contractors and water resource managers. IQ can manage small sites with single controllers as well as large areas with multiple controllers. IQ NCC cartridges are compatible with the ESP-LXME controller with 1 to 48 station capacity, ESP-LXD decoder controller with 1 to 200 station capacity, ESP-LXIVM controller with 1 to 60 station capacity and ESP-LXIVM Pro with 1 to 240 station capacity.
• Initially, IQ NCC cartridges are configured using a setup wizard provided in the ESP-LX Series programmer settings selection position. Communication setup parameters are set via IQ software or NCC Configurator software designed for netbook/notebook use at the job site
• Direct Satellites
• Sites with a single programmer would use an IQ NCC cartridge configured as a Direct satellite. A Direct satellite has a communication link to the IQ central computer, but has no network connections to other satellites in the system
• Server and Client satellites
• Sites with multiple schedulers would use an IQ NCC cartridge configured as a server satellite and the other NCC cartridges configured as client satellites. The server satellite has a communication link to the IQ central computer and shares this communication link with the client satellites via high speed data cables or radios. The communication link between the server and client satellites is called IQNet™.
• Satellites on the same IQNet can share weather sensors and master valves
• An IQ CM communication module must be installed for Server and Client satellites that use high speed data cables for IQNet communication. Server and Client satellites that use radio communication for IQNet communication require the installation of an IQSSRADIO radio. Each cartridge kit includes cables to connect the NCC cartridge to the connection module and/or radio

IQ NCC-RS RS232 Cartridge

• Includes RS-232 port for IQ direct cable or external modem communication link to IQ Host Computer and external modem cable (IQ direct cable supplied with IQ software package)
• Used for satellite Direct or Server applications where direct cable or external modem (radio or other third party device) communication to the IQ host computer is required and for satellite Client applications where IQNet high speed data cable or radio communication to the satellite Server is required

IQ NCC-EN Ethernet Cartridge

• Includes an integrated Ethernet network modem with RJ-45 port
• Includes RJ-45e interconnect cable (requires static LAN IP address)
